Why does my air compressor shut off when oil gets too hot?
VMAC air compressors are equipped with a switch which includes an oil temperature sensor. If the compressor oil gets too hot, the switch sends a signal to the on-off controller to disengage the air compressor’s clutch. This shuts down the system and prevents high temperature related damage.
How to troubleshoot a overheating, shutdown or thermal?
Is the heatsink missing vanes, is the heatsink pipes crimped, is the fan damaged, is there visible tears or cuts on the liquid cooler tubes, stiff or missing fan blades? Is there any visible fluid or liquids on any components our around the connection between hoses or tubes?
Can a failing valve cause an air compressor to overheat?
A failing thermal valve can lead to heating issues with an air compressor. It is always best to have a replacement thermal valve on hand in case the preexisting valve on your machine needs to be changed out at any point.
