When did the Honda XR250R come out?
The Honda XR250R is an off-road motorcycle built between 1979 and 2004. In the late 1990’s, the XR250R was used by the British Army in small numbers at a time when it was still using the Harley Davison MT350 for more general use.
What kind of suspension does a Honda XR250R have?
Braking is via disks on both wheels. The XR250 uses taper roller bearings for the steering head. On later models, 41 mm cartridge front forks are used. The rear suspension uses a single damper with concentric spring with Honda’s Pro-Link suspension link attached to the swinging arm. This provides a progressive rate effect for the rear suspension.

Is the Honda XR250R a good trail bike?
The suspension is very good for TRAIL RIDING. I bought this bike thinking it could handle hard core jumps, and I was very wrong. Yes, it can clear 25-30 foot doubles, but anything bigger, and you will bottom out pretty bad. If you like to do little jumps then the XR250 will work fine.
For the pre-1996 models, the suspension travel was 280 mm (11 in) front and rear. The XR250R is the enduro (competition) model; however, the L version is electric start, (except for the USA market XR250L, which never had electric start and which was discontinued after the 1996 model year), with pillion pegs, softer suspension and lower seat height.
