Why are my rear brakes sticking on my Foreman 500?
My Foreman 500 has been having an issue of it’s rear brakes sticking almost like they are applied at all times. I will try this video info and see if that is the issue. What to do if your rear drum brakes keep sticking?
I also needed to clean out a lot of previous owner mud from the wheel side of the brake panel. The shaft that the brake arm is attached to was also dirty where it passes through the brake backing plate. Once cleaned up and greased, it was much easier.

Using a small grinder or disc cutter. Gentle (and not so gentle) tapping around the brake disc edge with a soft face hammer. Soaking the rusted parts with a penetrative oil and more tapping. Using the caliper bolts in the ‘push out’ screw holes, which just cracked the disc and ruined the bolts (only available from the Honda main dealer).

What to do if you have a seized brake caliper?
Unsticking a Seized Brake Caliper If the cause of your brake issue is the parking brake cable/mechanism, a skewed pad, or the pads sticking to the disc, the remedy is fairly simple. Lubricating the parking brake system should fix that issue, and removing the pads and applying a small amount of grease to the edge should fix skewed pads.

How can I Fix my rear drum brake?
The actuator shaft is seized in the rear cover. Remove it and clean it just as Shade explained. I use marine grade grease it’s far better for these machines and this close to the ground. also replace the seal. Once the shaft gets rusted and you sand it you’re actually removing metal therefore increasing the clearance between the seal and shaft.
