Why did my Polaris 800 pistons stop working?
More 2008 thru 2017 Polaris 800 motors have failed because of premature piston replacement with an aftermarket piston.
Is the bottom end of a Polaris 800 OK?
This is about the bottom end which you may have seen a few of lol. If you owned a Fuji cranked 800 and slobbered it with oil (I mean dripping out the exhaust at the end of any day) since hour one, never blew a belt or any other catastrophe, measures OK on the ends, would you be concerned approaching 5000 mountain miles? Thanx if you get the time.
Why are the Pistons hot on a Polaris snowmobile?
So since the cooling ports are in the cylinder the cylinder contracts and squeezes the Hot expanded pistons, this creating scuffing of the pistons from a cold shot and yes that creates heat from the friction. Any Questions I will be glad to answer.
Can a Polaris sled get a brand new cylinder?
If you take 90 used Polaris 800 sleds…. All get brand new OEM cylinders. Believe it or not there more options I have not listed. Ok we 90 fresh rebuilt sleds with Brand new OEM cylinders. They all get started at the same time and are allowed to idle until water temp hits 70 degrees and at that moment they are all held wide open for 1 mile.
Are there any issues with the Polaris Sportsman 800?
Got about 3000 miles on it. The 500 (wifes) has zero issues with about 2000 miles. Anyone have issues with battery draining. My 2008 . Sportsman 800 battery drains even with positive cables disconnected.
What’s the best power for a Polaris 800?
Most two strokes make the best power between 100 and 120 degrees F. This is the reason most two stroke thermostats are a 120 stat. Also the 2011 800 engines are the best running most reliable to date (Not my quote check the new Sno Tech) so it is hard to believe that it only took 49 miles to burn it down after the change over.
What causes popping and hesitating on Polaris Pro riders?
That kind of popping/backfiring. You know how if it’s advanced too far it starts real hard and rough but will rev to the moon, but if it’s retarded too much, it starts super fine but sputters and bucks and spits and kicks. Would a sheered woodruff key put off symptoms like this?
What should I do about my 2008 Sportsman 800?
I have my 2008 Sportsman 800 torn apart for a Fuel Pump replacement and would like to know if there are any other repairs I should perform in the downtime instead of IF they occur later. Here is what I have. If you have others, please let me know.
