I took mine out by removing the panel on the end of the dashboard. I put a screwdriver in behind the switch and did the turning the knob bit then pushed the switch from behind with said screwdriver. If you’ve got auto headlights, then you’ll need to put the knob on “auto” then push in and rotate to the off position.
