The even bigger problem is the rubber manifold boot gasket to the inside of the carb. The original Harley rubber boot is noticeably more pliable and about 20% thicker on the side walls. I placed the replacement boot over the intake manifold and pressed the carb in place, and it literally slid into the boot with no resistance whatsoever.
