Why is my crank sensor not working on my Harley?
Like I said before, if you are getting a voltage reading when crank over the engine , about 1 -2 volt pluses, then the sensor has to have continuity. The backfiring you describe doesn’t sound like a crank sensor. Usually when bad, the bike wont accelerate, dies spits and pops, dies won’t run hardly at all if off idle.
Why does my Harley Davidson crank but not start?
There have been a few reports of a P1009 code – incorrect password also. It appears the turn signal and stalls or cranks but will not start. Try removing the ecm and security fuses, wait ten minutes and reinstall the fuses. This “reboots” the turn signal module and the motorcycle will then start from that point on.
Where is the alarm on a Harley Davidson?
Return the back end of the seat to its original position so it covers the module. Trace the wiring from the alarm’s sensor which is typically mounted under the seat, along the frame of the Harley Davidson motorcycle, until you reach the alarm system next to or near the handlebar.
Why does my Harley Davidson cylinder misfire?
When your vehicle’s crank position sensor is failing, then you’ll notice the cylinder misfire. This is because it is unable to provide your vehicle’s computer with correct piston position information. When your Harley Davidson’s crank position sensor turns bad, you’ll notice the acceleration performing unevenly.
