My 2005 Polaris Sportsman 400 is completely dead, most of the time. The battery is new, I replaced the key switch thinking that might be the problem, but still nothing. Every once in a while when I am messing with it, it gets power and starts right up, everything works fine and it runs great.

Why does my Polaris sled not run coolant?
On some of the sleds with the front radiator the coolant doesn’t run completely through the system, SLP has a restrictor to put in the coolant line to force the coolant through both the radiator and the tunnel. If the radiator is removed, you will need scratchers to keep the sled cool on the trails.

As far as common problems, i have a 700 carb twin and a typical issue is the carb intake tends to crack on them due to the carb mounted to the frame and vibrations. My speedo wasnt working when i bought it but was a $60 issue to replace a burnt out hall effect sensor. Other than your price id say all day get it!
