Why does my EFI 580 EFI have trouble shooting?
As I under stand it, the little “eye” on the ECU will flash in different sequences indicating different problems. Also, does anyone have any experience with getting these ECU’s wet? This sled went in the drink last winter and I am just getting around to putting it back together.

Greetings all. Can anyone educate me on the self diagnostics for ECU on a ’95 580 EFI Pantera? As I under stand it, the little “eye” on the ECU will flash in different sequences indicating different problems. Also, does anyone have any experience with getting these ECU’s wet?
What should I know about my 95 Zr 580 EFI?
My 95 ZR 580 EFI had a screw, yours may as well. Other things to check… good battery. The early AC EFI’s really like good electricity, check the battery voltage. And when you turn on the ignition, check the ECU for trouble codes.
Why is my ZR 580 not going back to normal idle?
Sometimes things get kinked or jambed and the throttle linkage is not allowed to go back to the normal idle. Also, look for an idle adjustment screw, there may be a way for you to lower the idle there. My 95 ZR 580 EFI had a screw, yours may as well. Other things to check… good battery.

Click to expand… we had the same problem on our 94 580. gas spark. wouldnt rev over 5000. ran like sh*t. had to put gas in the cylinder to make it run. turns out she fried the mag side.
Is the ECU on my EFI trouble shooting?
There is no motor damage, but I have been told the ECU will be junk because the key was on when it fell through the ice. It was under water for about 2 hours with the key on. All help is appreciated. Ken. I don’t recall the codes, if no one gets them to you I have them at home.
