Can you use rear brakes on a trike?
My rear brakes on my 2010 trike don’t stop anything like my front brakes. The longer i ride the more the rear brakes fade. There is no way i can only use my rear brakes to stop. Is anyone else having the same problem? It seems like the stock rear system isn’t big enough. My front brakes work great.

The rear brakes are under-engineered on the Tri-Glide. Read the many complaints on other trike forums. On the ’09 & ’10 models, the rotors are of poor quality and the pads are too small. On the ’11s, the pad footprint has been increased but stopping power, for the weight of the trike, just isn’t there!

Transmission must be in neutral. The bike must be moving less than 2 mph. The engine must be running at, less than, 1500 RPM and there must not be any reverse codes that are present.
Do you need new brakes on a Tri Glide Trike?
Hhhhmmm, guess I really did not need new brakes after all, what a dealer ploy, so I continue and replace the brakes anyway, the rotors looked fine so nothing required to do there. After putting on the rear brakes I adjust the e-brake and everything is fine, no squealing at the moment. I will have to get some Lyndall brakes when they are available.
