Is the ignition coil on a Kawasaki 6V?
Your bike might have a magneto, but all best are off if you find ignition points. its a 6v system and yes, it has breaker points. seems everything checks out good, but the coil. somehow, when the coil went, it took the cap and plug with it. at least i got to hear it run for a minute, lol
How does the ignition system work on a Kawasaki MULE?
The primary coil increases the voltage from the battery and the secondary sends voltage to the engine to fire the spark plugs. The spark plugs ignite the fuel for combustion. Each coil needs a specific resistance, which limits the electrical current to create the correct voltage.
What causes the ignition to shut down on a Kawasaki?
Almost sounds like a problem with the kill or ignition switch wiring. Both of these will ground power to the coil, shutting down the ignition. Open up the handlebar switch pod that has the run/stop switch. On some of the older Kawasaki’s, the solder joints are starting to fail.
What should the voltage be on a motorcycle ignition coil?
Most motorcycle ignition coils use a pulsing 12 (or in some cases 14.5 volts if the battery is good) to spark the plugs. Your bike might have a magneto, but all best are off if you find ignition points. its a 6v system and yes, it has breaker points.

Why is my Kawasaki coil not working properly?
Could be spark, which is easy to check for with a spark tester or a known good plug. Or it could be compression related in which case you have bigger issues.
Where do I find the Ohm readings on a Kawasaki?
The manual should list the primary and secondary ohm readings,Here’s places to possibly find one, Haynes, Clymer, and Chilton all make shop manuals, but the Kawasaki ones have more information.
