The Shortshots Staggered exhaust delivers a quality full system for less than you would pay for most slip-ons. With 1 3/4” head pipes stepped to 2 1/8” muffler bodies and 2 1/2” 220° coverage heat shields, dollar for dollar, this is an unbeatable system.
Is the fuel Pak necessary with V & H short shots?
V&H now have the setting for the Stage 1 remap, if you have gone that route. Doing it myself was cheaper than the stealer, and I’m all about denying the techs at HD my hard earned money! I installed V & H slip-on short shots along with a SE A/C upgrade and the fuel pak. My bike ran really well and the sound was awesome.
Do you need to retune a V & H Short shot?
HD doesn’t suggest that you need to retune anything if you only replace the exhaust with other slipons, but do require it if you replace the Air Cleaner. See this thread for more on that: I’m thinking about getting the shortshots myself and I didn’t realize that it was even a consideration that you needed the Fuelpak with just the pipes.
