What makes the Polaris Hawkeye 300 so special?
The most unique machine in their lineup is the brand new Hawkeye 300. What makes this machine so special is that it is categorized as a smaller mid size ATV but has features only previously found on more expensive full size models. The most notable of those features is true independent rear suspension.
When did I Buy my Polaris Hawkeye bike?
I bought my Hawkeye new in 2007. At this point it has only 90 hours and less then 800 miles. It is not abused, being used mostly to ride the grandkids around the property. A year ago (at 65 hours) the bike developed a clattering sound behind the cover at my left ankle on the bike.

I have had my 2009 hawkeye since new and it just started the noise you mention. 200 hours still under warranty the dealer mechanic was hoping it was a clutch bearing but no such luck. Its a bearing in the starter clutch and requires the whole back end pulling apart.
