It was right where the exhaust port is and that cylinder was running a little hot. I didn’t loose much compression until the sled got good and hot. Then it was a pain to start because the gas was getting right around the piston ring. here is what I would try: 1) pull the carbs off and verify the main jets are all the same. what are they?

Based on personal experience with the XLT and Ultra, I’m betting your problem is a corroded choke cable or sticking choke plungers. Pull all three plungers, and clean and lubricate the plunger bores. Observe the action of the plungers, and make certain all three are moving up and down

What to do when your Polaris triple floods?
Pull all three plungers, and clean and lubricate the plunger bores. Observe the action of the plungers, and make certain all three are moving up and down the same amount, and then make certain there is enough travel that they can close the choke when in the off position. I replaced my Polaris triple
