Where can I buy a Kawasaki MULE engine?
A kawasaki dealer is your best bet. Shipping is going to be high if you order it online though, as the ship weight is about 85 lbs. The Mule 2500/2510 engine is a Mule 2500/2510 engine. Nothing interchanges. The John Deere Gator engine is close, but the crankshaft is different (Mule engine needs a splined shaft).
How old is an OT Kawasaki 3010 mule?
It will run up a bit and then do nothing as long as the throttle is open. It is about three years old but has low hours (42). I expected to find stale gasoline and gunk in the float bowl, fuel filter, and carbureter bowl. Everything was clean, the float is OK, and the electric fuel pump has good pressure and volume.
Why does my Kawasaki MULE have no power?
I noticed a few times that the fuse holder was very warm but I don’t believe Kawasaki would have made such a mistake. 5 days ago, after having to tow the mule to my shop, I decided that I was going to find that problem. I started checking power at the battery and moved toward the switch. I found that I had no power at the fuse holder.

Had the same problem with my 02 550 mule. Just a click but couldn’t get the engine to turn over. Sometimes it would start cold and after riding a while, if you shut it off…..click, click, click. Sometimes it wouldn’t start cold but if you waited a while, it would start.
Are there any problems with the Kawasaki MULE 4010?
Yes fuel pumps have been problematic but the 2012 and newer pumps have addressed many of the issues. Mainly the pressure relief valve and fuel filter. It is impossible to get an “old style” pump…the part numbers have been superceded to the new style. Might pick up a service manual too.

I have flushed the cooling system, replaced the water pump, washed out the radiator cooling fins, ensured there is no air in the system, etc.
How often should you change the throttle on a Kawasaki MULE?
Combine that with oil vapors from a poorly-engineered CCV system and the design of the throttle assembly, it all adds up to problems. Valve adjustment should be done about every 200 hours. It’s real easy and not very expensive if you pay the dealer. At least compared to a new throttle body assembly.
