The ’83 Venture was the Goldwing before the Goldwing was the Goldwing. Engine is rock solid with the possible exception of the 2nd gear difficulty. For what it’s worth, if 2nd gear goes out, it doesn’t hurt anything else to ride it without. To repair the 2nd gear requires splitting the case on the engine and is fairly involved, but doable.
