Why does my Arctic Cat starter kick out?
When the motor is warm and I start it, the starter will kick out once there is any kind of release in tension on the flex shaft. Not a big issue but it forces you to “bump” start the unit until is catches. I talked with the dealer and he says that is just the way an Arcti Cat is and replacing the starter would not accomplish anything.
Is the Arctic Cat hard starting or full choke?
Get ‘er running and check idle rpm while cold, try adjusting if necessary well I replaced the pinion on the starter and the wiring assembly on the battery (charging diode was blown) so the starter is working fine and I’ve been using that to start her. with full choke and starter it turns about 10 times from cold real hard but beats pulling.
Why did Arctic Cat make the snowmobile starter?
Cat may have developed this design because it might be more universal, or easily adapted to different engine and chassis combos, which means lower cost. It may also allow the starter motor to be placed for better weight distribution.
Can a warm engine start an Arctic Cat?
Pull start it. A warm engine should start with an easy tug on the rope. Bumping the electric starter will only put additonal wear and tear on the system, which is unecessary. I understand that but, I did pay extra for an electric start machine and it really should work as it should. Other than the starter issue my Z570LX is a very nice machine.
