1993 – 2008 XR650L ( L! Not R!) I am currently riding an 83 XL600R and have been very happy with the bike. It is however 25 years old.. and an update for reliabilities sake and ease of parts is welcomed. What the 83 XL does have going for it is gobs of torque and power and a weight of 315 WET.

The XL600R’s of the 80’s had a dual carb setup said to make 43HP stock.. which I believe is much more than a corked XR650L. My butt dyno says the thing is a rocket.
