What kind of oil should I put in my RM 125?
Any engine oil will do as long as it doesn’t include ‘friction modifiers’. 32:1 is a good mix ratio for fuel/oil. But the smoking is because of the leaking float needle in your carburetor giving you an overly rich mixture (Air/Fuel). Clean the carb and set the float. -BIG DAN

A modern, top quality oil, mixed at 40-1 (or if you really want to, 32-1) will be fine. If you engine has been rebuilt IE your not still trying to run it on old 70’s bearings, seals, conrod and its been properly re-bored with a decent piston etc, then there should be nothing to worry about.

What should the ratio be for two stroke gas?
If you own a mild-mannered bike, consider a 50:1 ratio. One of the things you should do, is run high octane gas with any two-stroke mix. When all of the two strokes (the old days) were developed, they all used Castrol petroleum oil at a 20:1 ratio and found that 92 octane gas had the octane reduced to 72 with presence of that much oil.
How do you mix gasoline and oil for a two stroke engine?
Two stroke engines burn oil and are designed to do this, and require the proper oil in the gasoline. Mix the gasoline and oil thoroughly. One method is to take your gas and oil can to the gas station and mix right there at the pump. Fill the gas can about 1/3 full and then add the proper amount of oil, then fill the container.
