Does a kick start motorcycle need a battery?
It is possible for a motorcycle to start and run without a battery, especially smaller motorcycles that are 250 CC’s or less and have a kick starter. The bigger the engine, the less likely the motorcycle will be able to start without a battery. Some proper rewiring is required in order for this to work.
Why do bikes don’t have kick start?
Fuel injector bikes do not come with a kick start because Fuel injector bikes have a submersible pump used in the fuel tank and that pump needs a minimum of 9V voltage to operate. If the kick is used to start a FI bike then that does not generate a required voltage, so there is no point in giving a kick to bikes.
How does a kick starter work on a Honda Accord?
It basically works the same as the internal type but you can easily get to everything to fix it. Just take off the clutch cover and, at worst, the clutch basket and there you are. The kick starter shaft turns, forcing the Kick Starter gear into mesh with the idler gear.

The Kick Starter must be able to spin the engine at least three or four hundred RPM. Most electronic ignition systems have an anti kick back feature that cut the ignition at low speeds. Just about all the newer street bikes have no Kick Starter at all.

The problem with this arrangement is that all the Kick Starter gears and springs are within the crankcase. You must remove the engine from the frame and split the crankcase if a gear or spring breaks.
