Do True Duals increase power?
If you have dual exhaust tips to a single exhaust, your vehicle will look great, but it’s not doing anything to increase power. Dual exhaust will give you a significant power increase because of the engine’s ability to breathe better. Thus, if you are trying to increase horsepower, dual exhaust may be worth the cost.
Is true dual exhaust bad?
Not entirely true. Its all dependent on pipe sizing and mufflers/cats used. True duals with a crossover will always out perform a single exhaust with a y-pipe (better scavenging when both banks are balanced) when the two systems are designed properly.

Are there any Harley Davidsons that do not have cross overs?
Duals that do not have a cross-over tend to have rougher idle characteristics or deceleration “pop”. Softail duals can be found from Bub/Rinehart and Samson. Some popular true dual for FL models include V&H Power Duals, Fulsac X Pipes, and Jackpot 2-1-2. These are all technically 2 into 1 into 2 since they have integrated or hidden cross overs.
