Why are my rear brakes sticking on my Foreman 500?
My Foreman 500 has been having an issue of it’s rear brakes sticking almost like they are applied at all times. I will try this video info and see if that is the issue. Sometimes after it has sat for a week or so, you really have to give it the gas to get it rolling. Other times a lite throttle blip will release it.
How do you fix a Honda rear brake drum?
The next day when the drum would not wiggle loose I took a large flat screwdriver and inserted it into the indentation in the drum and hit the screwdriver 2 or 3 times. I then rotated the drum to the next indentation and repeated the process until the drum came off the axle.
Why are the brakes on my Honda recon sticking?
Good info. Made this a sticky. great video but Ive got a 2004 honda recon and am stuck in the middle of trying to figure out how to separate the brake panel plate from the drum. they came off together when I tried to get the panel plate off. also the brake lever at the panel cover was nearly frozen and I could only move with mallet. thanks
How to fix a sticky brake on a Honda rancher?
Click to expand… Your brake drum might be wore a lot. You can try removing the brake lever from the cam and rotating it forward a spline or two on the brake cam. I have a suzuki LT250ef it has a sticky brake. Is fixing it anything like your honda thx 400? great post, I had a similar issue where my rancher rear brakes were not working.
How can I Fix my rear drum brake?
The actuator shaft is seized in the rear cover. Remove it and clean it just as Shade explained. I use marine grade grease it’s far better for these machines and this close to the ground. also replace the seal. Once the shaft gets rusted and you sand it you’re actually removing metal therefore increasing the clearance between the seal and shaft.
