How did I Fix my 700 sportsman EFI?
In the interest of getting all the symptoms and attempted fixes into one thread I thought I’d share about how I spent the whole summer chasing down and fixing a spitting, sputtering, quitting-while-hot issue on my ’06 700 EFI. I know this is very long but I think it will be helpful to those of you that have the same symptoms.
How long does it take for sportsman EFI to restart?
Waiting about 2 minutes (truly not very long at all) it will restart and run just fine. Then seems to run beautifully. I haven’t been greatly concerned because the wait to get it working again is soooo short.
When did the 2002 sportsman 700 twin come out?
-Farmr thanks to Farmr and the Frontier. I’ve had relatively good luck with my first model year 2002 Sportsman 700 twin and am very happy with it but after 5 1/2 years and over 3000 miles I can add a little to this topic, at least in reference to the earlier Twin models.

How many volts does a Yamaha Rhino need?
If new one or more of the cells may need acid. My Rhino reads 13.3-13.7 constant while running, but you need at least 12v to start. You can always add an alternator kit. Also- What happens when you jump start the Rhino? If you run it for a long period of time and then turn it off does it start back up?

Why does my Yamaha 700fi Charger not work?
The more common problem is at least one shorted or open coil within the sets. Start the engine and let it idle. Use the multimeter set in the appropriate range to measure around 20 Volts AC (NOT DC). Put one probe on the stator side single white wire and the other probe on one of the white wires on the stator side dual pin connector.

So I bought a used 2006 sportsman 800 twin efi a few months ago and it’s not running right. First time I took it out it ran ok for a while then at one point it started to bog down like it was choking out there was a fair amount of snow so I figured that it got in the air box, so I proceeded to open that up and air filter and box were fine.

Registration is fast and you can even login with social network accounts to sync your profiles and content. out of the blue my vinson wouldn’t shift into park and when I am in H or L and go past a slow pace (maybe in 2nd gear) it grinds and Low grinds even louder. When running for a while the rancher will shut off without the fan turning on. We then took it to dealer where it was started and warmed up. The fan came on at the dealer so they then replaced the fuel filter and fuel pump. We got it back and ran good for a few days with the fan coming on…
Why is my sportsman EFI spitting hot gas?
Later I did some reading on this and other forums and found several possibilities that could cause the same symptoms: Temperature-Barometric Pressure sensor wiring broken, the sensor itself is bad, the Throttle Position Sensor is bad, its wiring broken, the fuel pump going bad, and hot gas in the tank. I started with the simple things.

Machine starts right up, but runs like the choke is left on (but its an EFI) and will continue running only if you are on the throttle. Grrr. AKStew, did you have any Check Engine lights throughout any of this?
