When did I Buy my Triumph Sprint ST 1050?
I bought my Triumph Sprint ST 1050 in Feb 2015 for £2400. It is a 2005 model with quite a few miles on the clock (80,000). I mentioned the high mileage when buying it but was shown the full service history and was reassured that it was a good bike with no issues.

In August I broke down with a flat battery and had the regulator / rectifier replaced at a garage closer to where I live. The alternator was checked and found to be OK. After being back on the bike for a day and a half I broke down again. The alternator had 3 scorch marks so I had that replaced.

Why does my Triumph 1050 ST not start?
I foolishly ran out of fuel yesterday just 50 yards from the petrol station so I pushed it the rest of the way and filled up, when I tried to start it again I had to turn the ignition off and on again about 30 times before I got it to start again, al was good and I used the bike several times that day without any further problems.
Why is my Sprint 1050 ST not starting?
I bought a new fuel pump and this did not fix it, I discovered that there was no power going to the pump, this was due to a faulty fuel relay which had dirty contacts inside. After removing it and giving them a clean with some fine sand paper all is now fine. Thanks to all who posted in this thread.

What’s the problem with my Triumph Sprint 1050?

It’s been neglected a little but is mechanically in good condition. The major issue is that it keeps eating voltage regulators. The history suggests it’s had no end of electrical bugs & when it developed issues, I did some research & discovered the vulnerable alternators. Sure enough, mine was damaged.
Are there any problems with the triumph Charger?
I run grips, sat nav, usb charger and battery monitor. There is a lot of useful information on Triumphrat with regards to reg/recs, swapping for better units, wiring direct to the battery, etc. Luckily for me I’ve never had a problem other than the connector starting to burn out.
