Why does the gear indicator on my Polaris RZR say H?
Our 2012 50″ does the same thing, sometimes it is “P”, sometime “L”, then it will be “H”. I have puller the sensor and cleaned the contacts, checked the resistance per the manual. Sometimes it does it at startup, when cool, then everything works when it comes to operation temp. Other times it is just opposite.

Click to expand… just disconnect the negative battery cable for about 5 full minutes. reconnect, and see what happens. then make sure to check the tightness of all the battery cables as well. Checking the grounds… Start at the battery box and work out on each cable, + and -.

Half way through Saturday it started to display “L” in low, and in high, so he at least had 4wd. Has anybody run accross this before? That’s an odd one………I’ve never heard of that happening before.

I have ordered part# 3234871, ASM-SENSOR, which is $151 (Polaris MAPS $169.99) and includes the sensor, O-ring, spacer plate, contacts, and springs. It looks like it’s all accessible from outside the transmission without removing the trans from the RZR. it’s pretty deep in there though.
