Why is my Harley leaking oil from breather?
Liquid oil seeks to fall, and the only thing holding it in the oil tank is a small check ball. Thus, the oil blows out the crankcase breather or air cleaner in copious amounts. It’s totally normal — Bill Harley and Artie Davidson designed bikes that were going to be ridden, not parked for months at a clip.
What causes Sumping?
Sumping is when the suction side of the oil pump does not remove enough oil from the crankcase. When the flywheels rotate in the oil they turn it into an aerated state. Thus, oil gets trapped in the crankcase and does not return to pump.

What to do if oil leak out breather tube?
The manual will say whether to check the oil on the stand or upright, just go by that. Get it fully warmed up then measure the oil on the dipstick. If it’s too much, use a clean turkey baster or something to suck some out of the oil tank or drain it a little with the hose.
