Test ride it and see how much it surges in 3, 4, 5 gear at steady but light throttle, between 2500 and 4000 rpm. Someone else might be able to suggest a more accurate test. IMO, 2500 is too low to ride the bike. At 4000 it is barely waking up.

When to replace haul sensor on BMW R1100?
If I owned a R1100 or R850 with over 75,000 miles I would immediately replace the Haul Sensor as a preventive measure. It doesn’t take long in a hotel and with a recovery charge to pay for the $250 Haul sensor and labor if you have to have someone else replace it for you.
