Why does my Chevy Avalanche make a chirping noise?
Love the truck. Nevertheless, a few weeks later i get this chirping noise from the engine. Belts, pulleys, tensioners… Gotta parade to participate in so i run it over to Sears who replaced the AC tensioner. 30 mins later the noise returned. They said they “missed” diagnosed and the noise was coming from the alternator.
What causes a tick noise on a GM Truck?
GM has determined that the cause may be any of the following: • a collapsed AFM (Active Fuel Management) lifter. Diagnose a worn cam lobe or lifter roller. GM states that a worn cam lobe creates a consistent chirp, squeak, squeal, or tick noise at camshaft speed, along with a misfire with trouble codes P0300-P0308.
What does the warning chime sound like while driving?
I have a warning chime that has started to sound intermittently while I drive. It first started a few weeks ago, and it sounded like a sick bell. After awhile, it began sounding like a single “bong”. Now it’s “bong bong” when I drive, it’s intermittent, but it’s more often.
Why does my Chevy Avalanche not have piston slap?
My ’07 does NOT sound like that. And, if you have an ’07, it is very likely that you do NOT have piston slap since GM changed the method for matching pistons to cylinders (by size & tolerances) for the ’07 model year. Incidently, the link I referred to will give you a description and reason behind piston slap.
Why does my Silverado Sierra make a squeaking sound?
I took my main belt off and started the motor to see if the squeak was coming from the cam shaft in the engine it self, where was no squeak so that ruled that out for me. You can remove the belt and start the engine for a quick test but not to long. I’m having this problem also. This has been ongoing for the last 7 weeks.
Where is the chiming sound coming from on my Silverado?
Next time it goes off, see (actaully “hear”) where it’s coming from. The module is located, I think, under the dash on the drivers side. Like I said, just a guess ….
