Are there brake lights, turn signals or cruise?
Discussion in ‘ Touring Models ‘ started by TXViper, May 19, 2009 . I have a 2009 Street Glide and just had the horn, cruise, turn signals, and brake light all quite working. I don’t have any blown fuses, and the turn signals still flash when I turn the ignition off indicating that the security system is activated.
Is the brake light on the same fuse as the Horn?
Any ideas of what this could be would be greatly appreciated. Check the accessory fuse again. Maybe with a test light. Do know if bike is wired like a car, but horn, cruise control and brake lights are all on same fuse. Like Glider says check em again OK, thanks guys will check the fuse again with a test light and post back my results.

Why does my brake light keep going out?
It should be a 15A fuse and there, may be a problem in one of the circuits causing it to go. Notice if it goes out when you use any of the circuits you posted above or a combination of them all causing an overload on the fuse. One thing is to never take for granted when checking a fuse, always check them all with a light.
Why is my cruise control light not working?
Aftermarket lighting, such as LED brake light conversion, might trick the CCM into thinking a brake light is blown, as LED bulbs draw less current than incandescent bulbs. Fuses and Relays – On some vehicles, fuses and relays are used to protect the cruise control actuator circuit.
Can a bad brake release switch cause a bad cruise control?
One of the symptoms commonly associated with a bad cruise control brake release switch is a cruise control system that cuts off unexpectedly. If the switch has any sort of contact or internal issues, it may cause the cruise control system to cut off unexpectedly when activated, even if the pedal is not stepped on.
When do you switch off the cruise control?
Usually the cruise control will have to be switched off by hand in order to stop the vehicle from continuing to accelerate. The cruise control brake release switch is an important component in maintaining the proper functionality of the cruise control system.

What are the symptoms of a bad cruise control brake release?
Another common symptom of a potential problem with the cruise control brake release switch is a cruise control system that stays on even when the brakes are applied. If the cruise control switch fails, it will not be able to deactivate the cruise control system when the brake pedal is depressed.

Early systems used a vacuum motor and cable, but these eventually changed over to electric motors. Most recently, with the development of drive-by-wire or electronic throttle control systems (ETCS), cruise control is built into the engine control module (ECM), which controls the throttle body electronically.
