Can a Softail dip stick leak down oil?

When did dipstick blow out on oil tank?
A gal friend of mine has a 2007 softtail….. I wasn’t there when this occured nor to see how much oil came out but i think she MUST OF been over full cause when I checked her level after a ride today, it was right on the hot full mark…I DO THINK HER OIL LEVEL WAS TOO HIGH AS NONE NEEDED TO BE ADDED….
Why did my oil tank blow out on my Sportster?
If the dip stick is reading over full after you removed/drained some oil, the oil is still over full. I blew out two oil tanks in the last couple of weeks on my 06 883 Sportster. Traced it back to a little aftermarket air filter I put on. The bolts that came with it were hollow as they were supposed to be but the wrong threads.
