Why is the overheating alarm going off on my Yamaha 115?
The problem is the overheating alarm goes off yet the motor is not overheating.The motor is 1998 c115. My buddy, to be on the safe side, changed waterpump, thermostats and sending units.

This is a total pain. My 2005 2530 with twin 150 4 strokes has an intermittent overheat alarm (on both engines) that goes off intermittently and only when putting the throttle forward (or reverse) from idle.
