Why is my Chevy Spark cranking but not starting?
There are a lot of issues that can cause your Spark to crank, but not start. The engine needs air, fuel, and a spark in order to run. It is highly likely that if the engine is cranking, but not starting that it has thrown an OBDII code. It is definitely worth it to use an OBDII scanner to check and see if the engine has thrown any trouble codes.

Sparkes93: you always have to “wake it up” by pressing the start/stop button before starting. If not it wont start…. If this was the problem it wasent really a problem Not the key, that’s only a magnet. Check the battery and make sure it is conected.

Is there a spark when the starter is released?
No spark while cranking over with electric starter…however when releasing start button sparks one time only. Coil and stator already replaced. Open to any suggestions….I am thinking it has a bad ground somewhere but can’t find anything.

Pickup coil. Cranks and cranks then sparks 1 light spart when starter button is released. Did you replace the pickup coil? If not, do so. If yes, did the old one and the new one look exactly the same?
