Will my Harley run with a bad stator?
Without a stator, your motorcycle will not get any spark at all as your battery is not capable of supplying the appropriate power levels to generate a spark. As a result, if your stator is going bad your motorcycle will run very poorly. Eventually, your stator can prevent your motorcycle from starting at all.
Is it the battery or the stator?
If you’re showing less than that, you have a problem. If the voltage really drops, like 11.5 volts, then either your stator or the rectifier is bad. Turn the bike off. If your battery is less than 12.6 V after sitting a few minutes, your battery is shot.
