Can a Triumph motorcycle start on one cylinder?

Mine is a 2006 865 model and almost always starts on one cylinder, but after half a minute or less the second one kicks in and it’s fine. I let the bike idle rather than try to ride it on one cylinder, and let the choke take care of the idle speed, but I do have to leave the choke on until the engine warms up a bit.

NGK gives them a life expectancy of 40-50k miles. Irridiums are great. I used them when i had a speedmaster and they don’t even show any wear after like 20000 miles.
