How do you turn on a Mitsubishi Outlander brights?
To change the headlights from high beam to low beam and vice versa, pull the turn signal lever fully towards you (1). An illuminated blue light in the instrument cluster indicates when the headlights are on high beam. You can flash the high beams by pulling the lever gently towards you (2).
What kind of headlights does a Mitsubishi Outlander have?
Some Mitsubishis have high intensity discharge headlights, sometimes referred to as xenon lights. These bulbs have a very high voltage that runs through them, even if the battery is disconnected. If your Outlander has this type of bulb, we do not recommend that you attempt to change it yourself.
When to switch to low beam on Mitsubishi Outlander?
On the other hand, if your headlights are too powerful, regardless if you are expected to switch to low beam lights when you pass a car, the time needed to make this switch will most of the time expose the driver in front of you to the headlight beam of your Mitsubishi Outlander .
Is the HighBeam the same bulb as the headlight?
In some Mitsubishis, the highbeam is the same bulb as the headlight and it is possible for the highbeam to work, but the headlight be burnt out even if they are the same bulb (and vise versa). Some Mitsubishis have high intensity discharge headlights, sometimes referred to as xenon lights.
Why are the high beams locked on my Outlander?
Of course a factory scan tool is cost prohibitive. However since we are seeing the high beams lock, this is a GOOD sign for the switch and the column ecu. If the column ecu were not seeing the headlight switch turn on, then it would not allow locking of the high beam unless there were a very specific failure (unlikely).
