Are there rear speakers on my Silverado crew cab?
I bought a 2006 Silverado crew cab and there is no sound coming from rear speakers. I’ve tried the fader control. I have the factory stereo with both cassette and CD.

Probably 2 bad speakers. You wouldn’t have a fader control if there were no speakers. The speakers would be behind grills in the doors. Some trucks have rear seat speaker/headphone controls, if you have these, make sure the speakers are not turned off.

Andy, the factory speakers aren’t great and a lot of people report that they blow very easily. A cheap speaker from an old radio is a good test tool when you get in there. Even if the speakers were blown, they would still make some noise. Only way they would be silent is if a wire in the voice coil or somewhere else in the circuit broke.

Why are my speakers going out on my K2XX truck?
Sounds like there is either a glitch in your audio system or your speakers are going out. Not sure about the K2xx trucks, but speakers going out is pretty common in at least NNBS truck. There was initial recalls in that year for radio becoming inoperable.
