My light was blinking (2002 EX). The computer code said it was a failed transmission temp sensor. When I took it to the dealer they found bad (grey and burnt) fluid, metal pieces in the pan and eventually replaced the transmission. If there are no other symptoms: bad fluid, problems shifting, etc.. then only time will tell.
