Why does my Mitsubishi Challe light keep flashing?
lift the car free off ground, then select drive forward in 2WD. If the front wheels do not turn, then the sensor may be faulty or stuck. if the front wheels turn in 2WD mode, the diff is stuck and the sensor tells you so. Same or similar problem can happen with the center diff, by the way, on pajero/montero, etc.
Why does the 4WD light keep flashing on my Mitsubishi Triton?
I have a 1998 glx mitsubishi pajero 3.5ltr V6. The issue is when I put the 4wd back into 2wd, the light keeps flashing on the dash. as if it still has not gone back into 2wd. It depends on how long it flashes for, when you select 2wd try and drive for a bit at slow speed and the light should stop. This is normal.

Putting it into 4WD has no effect. It does not engage; only the rear wheel keeps spinning. Turning off the ignition and switching on away restores the 4WD; the diff light blinking of course stops. Old thread but would really appreciate some help. Same issue as mentioned earlier by others.

Re: 4wd light keeps flashing on 2003 mitsubishi… the front diff has a sensor telling the control unit it when it is engaged (or not). It probably is, and it won’t disengage. or the sensor is stuck. The selector lever tells the control unit you want 2WD but the sensor thinks the front axle is engaged. So it flashes.

The selector lever tells the control unit you want 2WD but the sensor thinks the front axle is engaged. So it flashes.
