The “ABS service required” error message (google ‘lancer abs service required’ for an image of what the error looks like) almost always shows up when the car is stationary, so far I have had it show up twice just as I had finished parking, twice when turning the car on and once when travelling at speed up a hill.

sounds like my GF’s car. She has a 2009 Ralliart. From what I can recall it was a ABS pump voltage fault code C2116. It will eventually reset itself, but it does come back. It is a well documented issue, but Mitsubishi don’t want to fix it. we ended up having the unit rebuild / re conditioned.
