Why does my Mitsubishi Pajero only drive 2 wheel?

The “4×4 -mode” lights on the dash just keep blinking until the centre-diff warning light comes on. The car’s engine then has to be restarted but it will only drive in 2-wheel mode. The Mitsubishi dealership where the solenoids were replaced is unable to find an answer to this problem. Submitted: 8 years ago. Category: Mitsubishi

Why does my Pajero not go into 4×4 mode?

My automatic NS Pajero won’t go into 4×4 drive when either high range or low range is selected. The solenoids in both systems have been replaced but still the selection doesn’t work. The “4×4 -mode” lights on the dash just keep blinking until the centre-diff warning light comes on.

Why does my Pajero not engage or disengage?

This will put the solenoids on 4WD position and you changed the pipes, so the 4WD should disengage. 4WD should disengage if your 4H solenoid is OK, the ligths should now flash when you change from 2H to 4H because 4WD cannot engage because the pipes are switched. You can also check the vacuum of each solenoid with your finger on each one.

Why does my 4 wheel drive not engage?

The transfer case could pose another reason why your 4 wheel drive fails to engage. This could be due to the vehicle not coming to a complete stop to allow it to engage. This is because the splined pin and gears of the actuator need to align 100% with the gears inside the transfer case.

Why does reverse gear not work in Pajero?

We stopped at Storms river this afternoon and the reverse gear does nto want to engage. Drive is fine but no reverse. I can hear the seletor making it sound then just nothing. Like it is in neutral. Earlier this morning when we left I coudl reverse and yesterday no problems, actually did a lot of reversing to get trailer turned.
