How to reset front brake sensor on Mini Cooper?
I have recently had my front brake pads changed along with the sensor (R56).Got it done privately as local Mini Garage wanted £165. Found reset instructions on this forum from user ONED (nice one) . Followed them and got to the service menu.
How to check the brake pads on a Mini Cooper?
To check the brake pads, jack up the car at the appropriate jacking point, which is behind the front wheels or in front of the rear wheels. Remove the wheel, then use your socket to remove the brake caliper. Check the brake pads’ friction material; the minimum thickness you can legally have is 3mm, and anything thinner than that is a hazard.
Why does my Mini have a brake pad warning light?
If you look at with the wheel/ alloy still on the car it ‘looks’ fine but internally you could be down to the metal brake disc (or at least bum twitching close). Hope this come of use. Cheers Kis.

Warning should be reset. The MINI has a brake pad wear sensor on the left-front and the right-rear brake pads. Once the brake pads have worn to the point that the sensor touches the brake rotor, this will activate the brake pad wear warning in the instrument cluster.
