Is the 20 amp fuse for the start assist circuit?
The 20 Amp fuse you are talking about is for the SAC (Start Assist Circuit) and has no effect on the trim or anything else. That is the circuit that provides about 26 – 30 volts while cranking to allow the engine to start. Thank you very much, the diagram is a huge help. It’s giving me some ideas already.
Is there a Master fuse on the trim switch?
Not sure about a master fuse, check for any other kind of fuse related to the trim switch. Also, refer to your manual (if you own one) for any other assistance it’s a great source of wealth for information. Where is the fuse on a boat engine?
Check the fuse at the engine, it’s probably blown. It should be just above the starter solenoid or somewhere in that area. It’ll be black and about 2″ long x 3/8″ diameter with red wire coming out of either end. If you twist it, it will open up and expose the 20amp fuse inside.

The good news is that if the fuse blows while the engine is running it will keep running but you will loose guages and trim.

Why does my ETEC 60hp motor keep blowing?
Just bought an Evinrude Etec 60hp 2stroke. Third trip out everything was running great, then the motor just died. Happened while running about 5k rpm. No power the the motor at all. After checking a few likely culprits I checked the main 10amp motor fuse under the cowling. Blown. Threw a spare in and checked the tilt and it worked.
