Where is the fuse on a boat engine?

Check the fuse at the engine, it’s probably blown. It should be just above the starter solenoid or somewhere in that area. It’ll be black and about 2″ long x 3/8″ diameter with red wire coming out of either end. If you twist it, it will open up and expose the 20amp fuse inside.

What happens if the fuse blows on an E-TEC?

I thought you were talking about an E-Tec. The Big E-Tecs have a single fuse near where the battery cables hook up under a plastic cover. If that fuse blows it kills the entire system. The good news is that if the fuse blows while the engine is running it will keep running but you will loose guages and trim.

Why does my ETEC 60hp motor keep blowing?

Just bought an Evinrude Etec 60hp 2stroke. Third trip out everything was running great, then the motor just died. Happened while running about 5k rpm. No power the the motor at all. After checking a few likely culprits I checked the main 10amp motor fuse under the cowling. Blown. Threw a spare in and checked the tilt and it worked.
