Too bad it is no longer made! I have owned my 2007 Mercury Montego since new. I currently have 315,000 miles on the original motor and transmission. The motor still does not use any oil and runs good. I have the six speed automatic transmission and it also still works good.

What kind of problem does Mercury Mountaineer have?
Mercury Mountaineer 2004, AWD, V8. Bought this used with 40k miles on it. The engine dies (dead) when using the cruise control. control, several minutes pass by and suddenly the engine is dead. Most of the warning lights in the instrument cluster come on.
When did the dpfe sensor go away on the Mercury Mountaineer?
We took the Mountaineer to another dealer and they replaced the DPFE sensor in July of 07. Until then to now the problem went away.
