Why does my VW tire pressure sensor not work?
Took back to tire shop. They called their TPMS distributor for different models, they did not work either. They called the support desk for the TPMS distributor and were told that in 2012 VW changed the sensors for the CC and they are now a Dealer only part.
Is it possible to replace a tire pressure sensor?
Brass will react with the aluminum stem, and in time become impossible to remove. Always use a new rubber seal between the sensor and wheel to prevent leaks. Avoid over-torquing the valve stem nut or you may break the stem and render the sensor unusable. Even when cared for properly, TPMS sensor batteries don’t last forever and aren’t replaceable.
How are tire sensors used in Indirect TPMS?
Indirect TPMS uses the sensors related to the ABS system, which measure the relative speed of the four individual wheels. Using this data, they can determine if one wheel is turning more rapidly than the others, as would be the case if pressure – and thus the rolling radius of the tire – dropped.
How does tire pressure monitor work on Mercedes Benz?
Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM) monitors your Mercedes-Benz tire pressure of all four tires and will warn you if any of the tires has low pressure. Often referred to as TPMS, it has sensors that are installed at all the four tires and readings from each tire are transmitted to the TPMS control unit.

What was the problem with Ford tire pressure sensors?
These devices came out of the fiasco a few years back when Ford and Firestone were initially blamed for a number of incidents blamed on either the vehicle or tires. Subsequent and exhaustive investigations revealed the problem was with driver/owner negligence – either overloading the vehicle or driving on under-inflated or badly worn ties.
How does a tire pressure sensor work on a car?
Direct sensors are mounted within the wheel and contain a sensor and transmitter that provide a warning when the pressure in any single wheel drops more than 25 per cent from a pre-set amount. Obviously, when a tire is removed from the rim, there is no pressure, which means the TPMS has to be reset when…
