Why are my instrument panel lights not working?
Nothing wrong with the instrument panel lights. May be failing alternator. They are easy to take apart so check there is plenty of life left in the brushes. The rear alternator plug should be cleaned and connectors squeezed together so they grip the pins and greased on pushing back in.

My 92 80 used to do exactly the same. It turned out to be the wire/loom and plug that comes out of the back of the alternator. The first time I ‘fixed it’ I just cleaned the plug and ‘pinched’ the female spades in the multi plug a little to grip the male ends better.
