How do you select a fuse for a DC circuit?
Proper selection of an input fuse for a dc-dc converter involves understanding and consideration of the following factors:
- Voltage Rating.
- Current Rating.
- Interrupting Rating.
- Temperature Derating.
- Melting Integral (I2t)
- Maximum Circuit Fault Current.
- Required Agency Approvals.
- Mechanical Considerations.
Are there any 12V outlets in a Sierra?
Air compressor works fine in other vehicles and I can’t get any 12v accessory to work via truck’s outlets. Truck is 2008 Sierra SLE with 2 dash 12v outlets… neither work now. Logic tells me fuse but the aux, aux2, and fuse 53 under hood are all good. Is there another fuse I should test? Do some of the 12v outlets have fuses behind them or inline?
Why is one outlet on my Silverado not working?
LTR fuse powers one I/P outlet. One thing appears to be in common, LTR powers one I/P outlet and AUX power at least another I/P outlet if equipped. I would say if it was just one outlet not working and the fuse is good, the outlet might have been burnt.
What kind of power outlet does Silverado 1500 have?
2005 silverado 1500 crewcab 5.3L. I have two power outlets. Looking at the radio, the one on the left (aux power) stopped working after I plugged in a power inverter. My right outlet (cig lighter) works just fine.
Why is my 12V outlet on my truck not working?
Well the 12v plug that goes into the truck’s 12v outlet got wet and well you guessed it… 12v outlets don’t work anymore. Air compressor works fine in other vehicles and I can’t get any 12v accessory to work via truck’s outlets.

How to turn off a 12V power outlet?
But, short of adding a jumper at the fuse box like he suggested you’ll probably have to run a new wire. To do that, unplug a 12v outlet from the constant power and connect a wire from switched power at the fuse box directly to it.
