Why does my odometer keep flashing on my car?
Re: Flashing Odometer. This has been reported before in the forum… The flashing mileage indicates a communication problem on the CAN system. This can be caused by either, a node (ecu) that is not functioning, or the timing of signals incorrect down the CAN lines.
What does a blinking odometer mean, if anything?
This can happen is a battery is low, or has been disconnected. It is what Fiat calls a Proxy Alignment. Basically, one of three modules (the radio being one) is not communicating. I disconnected the battery yesterday and drove the car about 200 miles today. It was flashing then stopped when I restarted the car.

Why is my odometer blinking at 5, 400 miles?
Bringing back an old thread because this just happened to me. My odometer started blinking today at about 5,400 miles. No oil change message, no other lights/symbols. My car, stereo, and cluster are stock. No apparent reason for the blinking. I disconnected the negative battery terminal for a minute then re-connected.
What should I do if my oil light is blinking?
What I would do is with the engine idling, wiggle the wire plug at the oil pressure switch and see if the light does flicker off and on, so you may need a helper. Then next if it does not is to check the actual oil pressure with a gauge and see if the pressure is truly fluctuating. If so, the problem is most likely with the oil pump.

Hammer time! Thanks Clair, that sounds like a foboff answer, It does stop when turned off and re started. Cannot believe that an overloaded wire would cause that kind of issue though. It is true though. In older cars you had wires going every which way connecting up different things.
Why is my odometer not flashing on my Fiat 500?
Blue and me can cause this problem on other models but the 500 is running the latest software so it may not be related, if the fault occurs again, check all the electrics to see if anything doesnt work including blue and me, and then tell the dealer. STOP! Hammer time!
