Where is the oil sensor on my 1999 e320?
The message “Oil Sensor Defective” is displayed on about half of my trips with my 1999 E320. However the sensor measures the oil level without fail. Today I removed the plastic cover and located my Oil Level Sensor.

Unplug the connector to the B40 Oil Level Sensor. You will have to press the small tab on the connector and pull it out. Remove the bolts that hold the sensor in place using E-10 socket. Pull the oil level sensor down carefully.
