Where is the light for gear shift and steering wheel?
Light for gear shift and steering wheel not working. have the same problem? First, Have you checked all the fuses? I have attached a tutorial and a picture of your Fuse Box location. It is located under the steering column. Fuse location #5 is for the floor shifter. Fuse #9 and 10 are for panel illumination that should include the steering wheel.
Why is my gear shift light not working?
When on the driver side contact of fuse 10 it lights up fully. On the passenger side contact it gives a dim glow. (What does this mean?) I tried it on fuses 5 and 9 to see what it looks like on a fuse location that appears to be working properly.

To get the 4×4 shift knob off I had to stand in the Jeep with my roof off and straddle the console and pull hard and it popped right off.
