Why is the solenoid not working on my C280?
The immobiliser coil is in the ignition switch and it recognises the signal your key transmits. If the immobiliser had blocked the starter you will not get power to the solenoid. Also check the starter rely again and swap it for another just to be 100% certain it’s not at fault.
Why is my Mercedes C280 not cranking up?
If all fuses and realys are ok then the only other possibility would be the ignition switch or the immobiliser cutting out power to the starter. Check if you have power on the ignition when turing over to start. 6 people found this helpful.
Where is the battery terminal on a Mercedes C280?
You’ll find it on the lower firewall on the driver’s side (close to the starter). It’s the terminal where the large battery cable passes from the passenger compartment to the engine compartment. Usually it corrodes badly on the engine side. May also explain problem with alternator and battery (which probably weren’t a problem)
Where is the starter lock out module located?
There is a starter lock out module k38 which is located behind the drivers side kick pannel and the starter relay module box under the hood called K40 8 people found this helpful. DO YOU KNOW HOW DOES THE K 40 KEY RELAY LOOK LIKE IVE BEEN LOOKING FOR IT BUT DONT KNOW HOW IT LOOKS BUT IM GOING TOP CHECK THAT K 38 ALSO 3 people found this helpful.

Can a blown fuse cause a starter to not start?
Blown fuse – Sometimes the simplest explanation is the best one. A blown fuse in the starter circuit could be the cause of a no-start problem. Broken or corroded wiring – Damaged or dirty wires to the battery or to the starter solenoid (or wires that are loose) can prevent sufficient power from reaching the starter.

Why is my solenoid not getting any power?
If the ignition switch isn’t making contact in the START position, the solenoid wouldn’t get any power. For clarification, the solenoid has 3 wires. The two heavy wires are for the starter.
Where does the power come from on a starter solenoid?
The power on the small wire at the starter solenoid comes from the key switch, and may or may not go through one or more security systems. First, you can verify that you have battery voltage going IN to the key switch. If not, it’s a fuse or wiring causing the voltage drop.
Why is my 1994 Mercedes C280 not cranking?
PRKID2012 said he jumped the solenoid and it still didn’t crank. By the way the K40/4 relay in your picture wasn’t used until 96 or 97. And DAS (drive authorization system) wasn’t on 202 C class in 94. A common problem on those 202’s was the terminal 30 connector from the battery to the starter.

Can a bad solenoid be a sign of a bad starter?
Intermittent operation can be a sign of a failing starter solenoid. Other issues that present like a bad solenoid. Problems that might cause your car to act like it has a bad starter solenoid can include: Bad battery – If the battery voltage is low it will be unable to provide enough power to start your engine.
Why does my starter terminal not have power?
That terminal wont have power unless the key switch is turned to start. In other words the wire with the angled boot is the power wire that triggers the solenoid and connects the power from the battery to the starter. When you release the key it cuts the power to the solenoid, releasing it, thus cutting power to the starter.
